The warehouse had a rowing machine, thanks to Anakin's last upgrade. Rey still didn't get it. She'd never used an exercise machine in her life. She'd never needed to. But if it was going to be here, maybe she should try it?

And about a minute into it, she stopped. Nope, still didn't get it.

Watts was still in a bit of a Mood thanks to yesterday, and it wasn't helped by the fact that all of today's calls involved someone leaving luggage with passive-aggressive commentary affixed via label maker labels on their neighbour's doorsteps.

"Do they know that the luggage isn't appearing anymore?" Watts said as he hung up the telephone with a sigh,

"Some people," Don said to his class, "can fly. I apologize if this is the first you're hearing of this, but it's just the way it is. Maybe they have wings, or magic, or rocket boots. Maybe they are...I believe the term is 'self-yeeting.'" Did he use that term because it annoyed Thor? Yes. "And sometimes those people fall out of the sky or they go smack into a building, because of reasons.

"Now, most of the time people who can fly seem to have some sort of inbuilt protection against the normal consequences of physics. Or body armor, for the guy with rocket boots. And that's great, because falling from great height or slamming into a solid surface at high velocity are usually, you know, very bad for a human or humanoid body. So what are you looking for when your flying friend leaves a them-shaped crater in the pavement and then doesn't get up and walk away?

Lana waited for everyone to show up, then led them through the portal to a world in shades of autumn. "Welcome to Voss." Hovering nearby were a few of the very tall inhabitants. "The Voss have graciously allowed us to visit today, so I will ask you all to be on your best behavior. We are currently in Voss-Ka, the capital city, in the alien enclave. There's a market just over there that you can explore if you like, or you can simply roam and speak with the locals and other visitors. If you don't mind spending a bit more time here, you can get a shuttle to Interpreter's Retreat, where you can assist with clearing and rebuilding shrines."

I've had an emotionally exhausting couple days, it's been a year since we did this, and we just had luggage day so maybe people have things to say!

1. Comment with your character's name.
2. Other people will anonymously (or non-anonymously if you have no shame) comment back with a secret, a love, a worry, a fear, anything they have to confess to your character. This is allll IC.
3. Feel free to comment back to the confessor if you want.
4. Don't forget to check back to see who else has pinged in so you can divulge your innermost secrets to them!

Of course OOC /= IC, IC /= OOC, this has no affect on IC, etc.

...I didn't realize you had such strong opinions about facial hair. Thank you for the input, but it's my face and I'm going to do what I like with it. Good morning, everyone, it's Steve Rogers with the news of yesterday and to tell you that the rain of bags has ceased. Liliana, Sam, I apologize for my absence in class yesterday, but I was blocked into the tower. Judging by the stack of notes, Tony and I weren't the only ones having problems, so let's get to it, shall we?

In classes, Ethics was having a field trip in the Danger Shop to Omelas, a shining city that isn't so shiny; American National Parks went to New River Gorge in West Virginia; Philosophy of Food had to explain their food choices between several options; and Belle and her 'avoiding home' bag were hiding in the library. Raiden was using his class as market research for breakfast food preferences.

In town, Liz was dodging bags at the Photo Hut, Sabine was doing the same at Wellspring Arms, and Pixie Dust was staffed by a wolf. The squirrels are saying that they weren't getting any closer to find out why there was a wolf as they like to be un-eaten. That's fair. Don was dealing with bullying baggage in his rooms at our tower, where Tony and I were trying to figure out whose bags belong to who in our apartment.

McGarrett and Danny couldn't stop tripping over McGarrett's baggage, Steven told Watts he wasn't letting Marc out today--the bags were annoying, but I don't think it rose to the level of locking your friends up, and I'm sure the sheriff also said so--and Vi and Steph worked a shift together while rather aggressively agreeing that everything was fine as bags showed up. Jaina was in the park working off baggage frustration and assured Stark that he wasn't bothering her, even if his baggage said he didn't entirely believe her. Watts took the opportunity to explain coffee, tea, and what a detective is to Henry as a welcome distraction to the baggage at the Perk.

At the Devil's Nest, Thor and Eric spoke in Ancient Norse--you speak Ancient Norse?

*chittering*

Thor and Eric spoke in a language the squirrels are assuming was Ancient Norse, the baggage followed the Supper Club to Baltimore, much to Lydia, Rey, and Liliana's vocal displeasure, and Illyana, Steven, and Watts threw their baggage off the roof of the boarding house and into portals, where I am assuming for my own peace of mind that they weren't landing on innocent people in other dimensions and knocking them out.

Hope today is slightly less stressful. Have a good one.

Class was in the danger shop this time, which meant no nice, fluffy pillows or blankets at the ready. Instead, there was a large selection of breakable items and baseball bats. And the standard protective gear even with the safety protocols in place. You needed to always understand that people always found a way to get injured. Always.

"So, we're doing a rage room," Jane said. "It felt apt after yesterday."

Cara pulled a pair of safety goggles over her eyes. "Some of you may remember the rage rooms from our last class," she said. "Because repressing your emotions is no one's friend." Cara, there was so much to unpack with you saying that. So much.

Jane nodded in approval of that statement nonetheless! "Which means you can get out some feelings you might have after the bags... thing. And we encourage that."

"The rage room is not a place of judgement." Who are you, and what have you done with Cara?

Okay, now Jane was looking confused. "So, how about everyone get into it?" And she could check on Cara in case she was a Skrull or something.

Eleanor had skipped her classes yesterday and pretty much holed herself up in her room, because she really didn't need the entirety of everyone she interacted with knowing about just how terrible she actually was. Luma had said she was overreacting and being a coward, but she didn't have a single death on her luggage; she didn't have eaten cousins or assaulted school friends or the near entire destruction of their entire family estate on any of those pretty frilly bags, nor did she even have any friends here, really (or at all!), so she couldn't possibly understand how it was. She'd left in a storm, and so now Eleanor had a new bag to stare at all day reminding her about how much Luma actually hated her.

(And she really couldn't blame her at all).

But the bags were gone now, and Luma had returned from work bright and bubbly and eager to talk to Eleanor about what she'd missed as if nothing happened, and Eleanor was just confused about all of it, and they ordered take-out and listened to music on Eleanor's record player until they fell asleep, and everything seemed fine again, but Eleanor was no less confused.

Today, she wanted to make up for missing her Ethics class by considering what Luma had told her and writing down in a journal what she would have done; maybe she would go talk to Miss Vess about it to make up for her absence, and she was overdue to talk to Miss Vess about everything with Rhys, anyway. She'd have to figure out where they went for her National Parks class, too. Maybe if she wrote up a research essay on the place, Mr. Eagle would also be forgiving of her missing it yesterday.

Sure, she'd been here long enough to know that most teachers didn't care of you missed a day or two. Around here, anything could happen, so it was practically expected. But her guilt was weighing on her particularly heavy after yesterday, so she just wanted to try and make a few things more right in the world, in ways she figured she (probably) couldn't mess up spectacularly.

Ah, emotional baggage day. That had taken Jack back - though it'd been satisfying to see that his own amount of baggage had gone down significantly. Score one for therapy.

After class, he made his now-habitual trip to the Perk while he waited for his portal to arrive. With a large black coffee in hand, he picked a spot by the window and sat down.

Sucks that it's raining, the barista had said. They'd wanted to put some seats outside.

"Outdoor seating," Jack muttered to himself. "Sitting in the sun. Space. Just one cloud away from turning into a TV trope."

Why couldn't it be truth day? Truth day for Jaina wasn't any different from a normal day. Baggage day however meant that she was stuck looking at all the issues she repressed way deep inside in lieu of therapy.

She'd escaped the house because didn't need the kids seeing all of that, and if she was feeling really bitter she wasn't sure all the bags would fit. She was sure the "JACEN" bags were multiplying and following her around. She'd do lightsaber drills in the park for a while. She much preferred fighting against someone, but that felt like a bad idea, so this was fine.

Considering starting a bonfire here was also a bad idea, probably.

Steve was trying to get out the door for his classes today, truly he was. Every time he turned around, though, he was blocked by duffel bags labeled "HOWLING COMMANDOS" or neat, compact and heavy hatboxes with "PEGGY" and "SHARON" on them. The suitcases labeled "BUCKY", "BUCKY (OTHER)," and "BUCKY (OTHER OTHER)" had already been shoved against the wall with some super-strength and he honestly wasn't sure if the giant safe labeled "NEVER ENOUGH" that was blocking the elevator belonged to him or to Tony, but either way, it wasn't moving.

So he'd retreated to the kitchen and the comfort of reheated bagels from New York and ignoring the "FOOD INSECURITY" box blocking his way to the pantry.

It was gonna be a day. He could tell.

For whatever reason, Watts had not noticed the luggage when he'd first woken up. Otherwise he likely never would have left the house at all, let's be real. But he did leave the house, and it wasn't until he was nearly at the Perk that 'IDENTITY' and 'DIFFICULT' made their appearances in the shape of suitcases. Seeing as he was basically at the shop door, he (perhaps stupidly) elected to press on, doing his best to steadfastly ignore the 'ABANDONMENT ISSUES' trunk that was quickly followed by a wheeled suitcase labeled 'CLARISSA' that made a break for the door as soon as it landed.

Yes, even Raiden had a couple of bags following him around today, although they were relatively small and he was mostly ignoring them. (One said DUMB and another said CURSED and, well, he was both of those things. What of it?) He had more important things to worry about.

When the students entered the home ec classroom, they would find their teacher on the phone. "I don't care about interior design, I just want to open as soon as--you care about interior design." Of course Castor cared about interior design. "Hey, listen, do you have a bunch of bags following you around today? No, no reason--look, I gotta go, class is starting. I'll call you back."

He hung up and smiled at his students. "Sorry about that! Just dealing with some business stuff. This week we're going to talk about breakfast meat! Because man cannot protein by eggs alone, or something like that. Of course, some people are vegetarians and we don't judge them for that, and they have to get their protein from...beans and stuff. But I don't think we have any vegetarians in this class?" he double checked, before going on with, "If you do I have some vegan breakfast sausage, but it's..." Look, it was up to you.

"Obviously you can eat any kind of meat for breakfast and no one's gonna stop you, but some are more common than others. The most common breakfast meat in the US is probably pork, in the form of sausage and bacon," Raiden told his students. "Turkey, say, is not common at breakfast except in the form of 'healthier' alternatives to pork sausage and pork bacon, and you only see chicken--well, again in sausages, chicken apple sausage is really good, but also in the South in the form of fried chicken breast served on a biscuit or a waffle. Beef makes a show in dishes like corned beef hash or steak and eggs, and for seafood, you can put smoked salmon on a bagel up in New York, or go back to the South for shrimp or fried catfish served with grits." The South was killing it in the food game once again.

He gestured to a table full of food behind him, featuring the various breakfast dishes he'd just named and a few more besides, all separated out by type of meat (or "meat" in the case of the vegetarian alternatives) and carefully labeled. "I need your help with a project of mine. I want y'all to try this stuff, and tell me what you think. What's your favorite? What are you not into? What's missing?" Yes, he was using you for menu market research, but he was also feeding you.

With the bags, there was not enough space behind the bar.

Thor kicked one labeled DADDY ISSUES aside in order to reach the chalkboard to write the specials, then simply...stared at it for a moment.

Nothing was coming to mind. Out of the corner of his eye he could see an enormous steamer trunk with ASGARD splashed across it, the names of the fallen printed in smaller font all around it, Fandral and Hogun and Tyr and Sif and Volstagg.

Loki.

He expected that somewhere among the mess his brother had his own bag, but he had not looked for it.

Finally, Thor wrote something on the specials board and turned back to the bar.

No. Notes. Now.

Up at the School, Arden napped in the Library while Cal tried not to wake her. Which could have been cute or creepy.

Anakin inflicted rubber chicken tag upon Shenanagins, again. The minglers mingled, while amongst the voluntolds, Kitty felt personally attacked, even though she got picked to hit people with pool noodles, Vi explained her case of deja vu to Flint before flirting with Steph, giving me deja vu, Isabela explained how it was a sex thing to Sam, as you do, while Ignis and Flint considered their lost dignity. And then everyone ran around with rubber chickens on their feet trying to avoid getting smacked with pool noodles. As you do.

AS usual, nothing happened in the Dorms, while in Town, Adrian dealt with an aggressive phone caller at Pick Your Poison while Pamela suggested violence as the solution. Over at Caritas, there were all the limes. All of them, Stark was impressed by tiny pies, while Atton judged the limes, which I guess clears up the zombie clone question.

Belle had some bags with her today. A trunk labeled "Mama" and a somehow aggressively masculine bag labeled "technically still betrothed ugh" and assorted smaller items that she was doing her best to keep organized and out of anyone's way.

The usual gremlins had a few bags of their own, apparently. Belle would have simply nodded and moved on but some of them had decided to play catch with smaller items and that was disruptive. And odd.

She sighed and put her feet up on the trunk, pushing the bag with "Avoiding Home" aside as she did so.

"Good afternoon," Hannibal said, nodding to the class. "Today we continue our discussion of what is and isn't food, and how our preferences are formed."

He waved toward the table behind him, which held pairs of dishes this time. "We've got an assortment of foods and beverages today, organized into pairs. You may choose only one from each pair - you cannot have both. You may choose neither, if you prefer. But in any case, you must explain your choice. Why do you prefer the option you've chosen - taste? Nostalgia? Curiosity? Feel free to debate with each other as well, and ask each other or me questions. Remember, there are no wrong answers - it's reasoning and thought we're looking for."

The problem with this was that a new bag labeled AVOIDANCE WHEEEEE appeared on the pile every few minutes, but again Steph was (deliberately keeping herself) too preoccupied to notice.

And now he was in front of Portalocity once again waiting for his students to arrive. He just happened to have a very snazzy briefcase with him.

“Good morning, students! Today we shall be visiting New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia!”

“This park is the newest in our National Park System, having been redesignated in 2020! It exists to protect the New River Gorge.”

“While we were there you may participate in such activities as whitewater rafting! I recommend you not bring all your luggage with you on a raft! Or on a hike. Or on any of the tours. In fact I recommend none of you bring luggage at all. This is a field trip! There is no need for this excess!” Sam shook his head disapprovingly. He did most things disapprovingly.

“There are also guided tours and you may visit the visitor's centers! You may go on hikes! You may do anything appropriate to a National Park setting! I recommend visiting Thurmond for history, railroad history!”

“Do not,” Sam said, eyeing everyone fiercely, “miss the return portal! I will not come back for you!”

Oh good, it was Sabine's favorite day.

Usually she spent this day paintings over the baggage as symbolic catharsis or something, but apparently this hadn't happened since she'd been back because now there was simply too much. When you had survivor's guilt over an entire planet it resulted in a lot of little bags that were dropping steadily throughout the day, and she was just hauling them into the meditation room. Maybe she'd take some back to the range to shoot some a little. Also symbolic catharsis.
